Meeting needs from Victorian tourism regions

Opportunity

Resilient Ready was excited to collaborate with Tourism Midwest Victoria to deliver a fully subsidised program to build resilient tourism business communities across Victoria’s Midwest region, made possible thanks to Tourism Midwest Victoria funding.

This innovative solution was tailor-made, designed to build localised resilience with TMV Industry Partners and other businesses and organisations that connect with visitors.

Our approach

Through Resilient Ready’s flagship program, the Business Community Resilience (BCR) Toolkit delivered via Tailored Programs, we were able to support more than 100 businesses to increase knowledge and capabilities in disaster preparedness for their business.

Businesses completed 10 micro-learning modules, including modules co-designed with the project partners such as competitor collaborations, engaging with customers, and access and inclusion.

In addition to the online modules in-person and online workshops were also delivered  to connect with business peers, TMV and Resilient Ready, and to drive conversations around tourism business resilience.

It was great to connect with tourism businesses and help them get ready for future disasters.

Tourism businesses equipped for anything

Outcomes

Businesses in the high-risk and popular tourist regions of Midwest Victoria are now more equipped with the micro-learning tools and knowledge required to keep their staff and customers safer in times of disaster and disruption.

They will now benefit from their personalised business resilience toolkits that assist in emergency planning, safeguarding business operations, and building stronger linking ties with emergency service organisations and tourism boards.
