The Resilient Ready team visited Kangaroo Island recently to catch up with and record 16 local businesspeople who are featured in our new micro-learning modules.

During a stopover at Emu Ridge Eucalyptus Oil Distillery, Resilient Ready founder Renae Hanvin couldn’t resist giving orphan kangaroo Bradley a cuddle.

Kangaroo Island’s natural beauty and agricultural resources support a number of vibrant local businesses that serve not only the 4417-strong community, but the 150,000 tourists that visit the Island each year.

This visit would not have been the success it was without Maria Waters from the Kangaroo Island Business Hub, so thank you Maria! It’s also great to have Kathryn Calaby from South Australia’s Department for Industry, Innovation and Science involved in the project.

The South Australia Fire and Emergency Services Commission-funded project is a great example of a social enterprise, State Government department and local business community working together.

The Resilient Ready team is leading the collaboration to create a free solution for the local business community on Kangaroo Island with a focus on reducing disaster risks and limiting the impact associated with natural hazards on Australian communities and economies.

Resilient Ready is a social enterprise delivering innovative solutions to enable every organisation to thrive before, during and after disasters. To keep updated on news and current projects, sign up to our newsletter.
