Frequently asked questions

What is the project?

The Disaster Ready Great Ocean Road program is a tailored version of Resilient Ready’s innovative Business Community Resilience (BCR) Toolkit. The BCR Toolkit program builds regional connections and helps businesses to make small changes that have a big impact.

Run from June until November 2023, the Disaster Ready Phillip Island + Bass Coast program has supported many businesses across the region to build their resilience through 15 resilience-themed micro-learning modules. All modules focus on a locally-relevant topic and take 5-10 minutes to complete. Modules include two simple yes/no questions, a local business case study and easy-to-understand worksheets and tools.

Throughout 2023, the Toolkit has been a huge benefit to participating businesses, and it’ll be available for more businesses to complete throughout 2024.

Program outcomes include:

  • Safer tourists and tourism operators
  • Increased knowledge across the business community
  • Positive behaviour changes resulting in better business
  • Data to identify local business community vulnerabilities
