Prepare every business in your community together

Fund a program

Business Ready Together (BRT) is our award-winning micro-learning online program developed over 12 months with bushfire-impacted business owners back in 2021. Download the flyer.

We focus on building knowledge and capability in 5-minute intervals.

Formerly called Business Community Resilience Toolkits, it’s designed to help self-employed, micro and small-to-medium businesses (from a common location or industry) get resilient and ready, together.

All programs are free for businesses, social enterprises and not-for-profits. That’s because we work with councils, governments, industry associations and corporate funding partners to reduce the disaster risks that matter most.

Business Ready Together programs are available for place-based, member, customer or supplier business communities. They can be funded by government, councils, industry bodies, corporates or business groups – directly or via grants.

Led by nudge-theory, our programs help business communities focus on:

  • Business viability and sustainability
  • Risk understanding and disaster preparedness
  • Strengthening social capital ties and connections

Micro-learning has shown me small steps I can take to get my business ready for all types of disasters.

How do they build resilience?

Led by nudge-theory, our programs help business communities focus on:

  • Business viability and sustainability
  • Risk understanding and disaster preparedness
  • Strengthening social capital ties and connections

We work with you to select the right module themes to get your local businesses and community organisations resilient and ready for the future.

How does it work?

Step  1 — Select your program format

Every Business Ready Together program is different and developed in conjunction with funders. We start with the outcome you aim to achieve, then work with you to select the best number of modules including their themes.

  • Standard programs include 10 modules each with 5 quiz questions, local links (where relevant), self-paced worksheets and a case study from past programs, a business community conversation calendar to support module access over 12 months.
  • Optional extras include discovery surveys to support module selection, online check-ins to drive connections, in-community sessions (not usual workshops), filming local case studies for each module and follow up module packages including themes such as insurance and wellbeing.

The number of modules is purposely agile, programs can also be run as place-based (LGA, regional, state-wide or national), for members, customers and/or suppliers.

Step 2 — Localised content

We integrate links to locally relevant information or organisations such as Rural Financial Counsellors for our Financial Hardship module.

  • Standard programs will include localised links relevant to modules.
  • Bespoke programs will co-design module content specific to your location, industry or program theme.

We offer options to film local case studies to embed experiences of your local business people.

Step 3 — Module Release

We release all modules as guided by your tailored program. All participating businesses or community organisations across your group receive and complete the Business Ready Together program together.

Modules can be accessed for 12 months’ following program start date, participants can revisit modules at any time to review content, watch videos, download worksheets and retake quiz questions.

Step 4 — Workshops and Data

We offer optional extra online and/or in-person sessions delivered alongside your Bespoke or Standard option. Over the 12 month program access period, we provide quarterly data updates to share de-identified responses to help you identify, and thereafter reduce and/or seek funding to reduce, local risks and vulnerabilities across the business community.

How are they funded?

All programs are free for businesses, social enterprises and not-for-profits. That’s because we work with councils, governments, industry associations and corporate funding partners to reduce the disaster risks that matter most.
