Helping small businesses thrive in the good times, and get ready for the bad

Resilient Ready is excited to be running our Business Community Resilience (BCR) Toolkit program for all small businesses operating from the Limestone Coast region in South Australia.

Co-designed with a local advisory group, this program is open to small businesses within:

  • City of Mount Gambier
  • District Council of Grant
  • District Council of Robe
  • Kingston District Council
  • Naracoorte Lucindale Council
  • Tatiara District Council
  • Wattle Range Council

From July until October 2023, anyone who owns, operates or works for a small business within the above regions can participate. We welcome multiple people from the same business too!

By signing-up to the BCR Toolkit: Limestone Coast program, you can:

  • Create your personalised business resilience toolkit
  • Upskill with 15 x 5 minute e-learning modules
  • Watch videos of local business people sharing their disaster stories
  • Attend community and online workshops
  • Build regional connections with other people in business experiencing similar challenges to you

About the project

Funders

This project is funded under the Disaster Risk Reduction Grants program funded by the Australian Government and the South Australian Government. Views and findings associated with this project are expressed independently and do not necessarily represent the views of State and Commonwealth funding bodies.

This program opens for registrations in May 2023.

Modules will be released daily on:

  • 17 – 21 July
  • 14 – 18 August
  • 18 – 22 September

With registrations remaining open until 31 October 2023.

We will be holding online workshops in August, September and October to support your journey. Community-based workshops are planned for:

  1. Mount Gambier in August
  2. Robe in September
  3. Naracoorte in October

What is the project?

The BCR Toolkit: Limestone Coast program is a tailored version of Resilient Ready’s innovative Business Community Resilience (BCR) Toolkit.

Running form July until October 2023, the BCR Toolkit: Limestone Coast program covers 15 resilience-themed micro-learning modules. All modules focus on a locally-relevant topic and take 5-10 minutes to complete. Modules include two simple yes/no questions, a local small business case study and easy-to-understand worksheets and tools.

Community and online workshops will be held to build local connections and social capital.

Program outcomes include:

  • Increased knowledge across small business communities
  • Positive behaviour changes resulting in better small business
  • Data to identify local small business community vulnerabilities
Who is the project for?

The BCR Toolkit: Limestone Coast program is FREE for all small business owners, operators and employee operating with the South Australian Local Government Areas listed below:

  • City of Mount Gambier
  • District Council of Grant
  • District Council of Robe
  • Kingston District Council
  • Naracoorte Lucindale Council
  • Tatiara District Council
  • Wattle Range Council

We encourage multiple people from small businesses to participate.

The BCR Toolkit: Limestone Coast project is a collaboration between Resilient Ready, the Department for Industry, Innovation and Science (DIIS) and the Council of Small Business Organisations Australia (COSBOA).
